Missouri S&T’s College of Engineering and Computing has named four students from the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering as Dean’s Undergraduate Research Scholars for the fall 2025 semester.
MAE honorees and faculty mentors
- Parker Barnes (junior, aerospace engineering) — advised by Dr. Phillip Mulligan, assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
- Aary Patel (junior, aerospace engineering) — advised by Dr. Xiaosong Du, assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
- Tate Friedrich (senior, mechanical engineering) — advised by Dr. Catherine Johnson, Robert H. Quenon associate professor of mining and explosives engineering.
- Hugh Steinman (senior, mechanical engineering) — advised by Dr. Zhi Liang, associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering.
About the CEC Dean’s Undergraduate Research Scholars program
Scholars receive a $2,000 scholarship and a $500 research budget each semester for up to two semesters. To remain eligible, students must be enrolled full time and maintain a 3.4 GPA.
