Four faculty members from the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Missouri S&T were commended for their significant achievements and service during an awards luncheon held on Dec. 3 in the Havener Center on campus.
The Faculty Achievement Award recognizes non-tenure-track faculty who have demonstrated sustained excellence in two of the following areas: teaching, research, and service. Dr. Ryan Hutcheson, teaching professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, was recognized as the recipient of the MAE department.
The Faculty Excellence Award recognizes tenured or tenure-track faculty members who have demonstrated sustained excellence in teaching, research and service. Dr. Serhat Hosder, James A. Drallmeier Centennial Professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, was honored with this award for the department.
The Faculty Service Award recognizes faculty who display exemplary, sustained service to the university and to their profession. Dr. Nishant Kumar, teaching professor and associate chair for undergraduate affairs in mechanical and aerospace engineering, was selected as the MAE honoree.
The Faculty Teaching Award recognizes faculty members who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and teaching-related activities. Dr. Warner Meeks, associate teaching professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, received this award on behalf of the MAE department.
These awards underscore the exceptional commitment and contributions of the MAE faculty to the broader educational and professional community at Missouri S&T.
