MAE Department celebrates staff and faculty excellence at Staff Day Awards Ceremony

Missouri S&T proudly announced the winners of the annual Staff Day Awards, honoring exceptional staff and faculty members who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and excellence in their roles. Among the celebrated honorees were two distinguished members of the mechanical and aerospace engineering department: Dr. Daoru (Frank) Han and Skylar Rea.

The Outstanding Faculty Award recognizes a faculty member who is actively engaged in supporting staff across campus. The 2024 award went to Dr. Daoru (Frank) Han, associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering and director of the Gas and Plasma Dynamics Laboratory.

Skylar Rea, one of the six staff members received Staff Excellence Awards, accompanied by a monetary award of $1,000 provided by the chancellor’s office. He was recognized for his exceptional service and dedication and has made significant contributions to the department’s operations and student support.

In addition to the winners, the department proudly acknowledges the notable nominations of Lurong (Dena) He, senior communications coordinator, and Mitch Cottrell, engineer, for their remarkable efforts and dedication to the mechanical and aerospace engineering department. Their nominations reflect the high level of excellence and commitment prevalent within the department.

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at Missouri S&T continues to lead in innovation, education, and research, thanks to the hard work and dedication of its exceptional staff and faculty members.
