Md Bahar Uddin, a Ph.D. student in mechanical engineering at Missouri S&T, has been awarded the highly competitive Kummer Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) Doctoral Fellowship. The fellowship recognizes exceptional doctoral candidates whose work shows strong potential for innovation and real-world impact.
Bahar holds a master’s degree in manufacturing engineering from Missouri S&T and brings valuable industrial experience that blends technical expertise with entrepreneurial leadership—an advantage that helped him earn this prestigious award.
Working under the guidance of his advisor, Dr. Frank Liou, and with the mentorship of Dr. Sriram Praneeth Isanaka, Bahar is conducting research on material characterization, focusing on advancing the understanding of material performance and quality through in-depth analysis and experimentation. The fellowship will provide critical support for his ongoing research, which aligns with Missouri S&T’s mission to drive innovation and technological advancement.
